Ponderings on Humanity, Wilderness and other Stories of Africa

All my life I have listened, listened to everybody!

From cultural elders to the rich and famous, from drunkards and those living on the peripheries of society to scientists and doubters and from the pious and braggards to the emotionally broken.

I have seldom judged, instead I have taken the conversations as life lessons from experts in their field.

And I have listened to Africa, the people, the wilderness, the places, the seasons and each moment.

New!!! Dramatic discoveries in ancient art and consciousness!

Consciousness to now

Consciousness to now

An overhang used by our ancestors for sheter from the elements and from predators

As a species we should be moving towards reconciling with each other and with nature – but what I see is the exact opposite. Yet, despite all the negativity I am still Inspired  and see the rise of a new understanding for humanity out of Africa.

From an old friend

Consciousness to now

'Old friend, I sure wish we were perched around a campfire at the end of a God-forsaken desert track, where others before have turned back. But then again perhaps we are, … just without the campfire'.

During my guiding years I carried a camera with me whenever possible, not only to get great images but to record the wilderness. I have put together a collection of my most memorable photos - not neccessarily my best images

Discovery of Acheulean stone age tools and animal shapes - possible Homo erectus art

A chance unearthing of a possible early Stone Age tool-making site, where numerous Acheulean hand axes and more were found included the discoveries of several shaped stones, including some that appear to be parts of tools.

A new way forward for Humanity

Africa Wanderings is a dedication to the place that has inspired me throughout my life

Africa is considered the birthplace of mankind and human consciousness.

I predict it will be the birthplace of the new way forward for humanity.
