The reasonably interesting life of an Africa Wanderer

'Why don’t you write your stories or memoir?. You’ve had a reasonably interesting life. You’ve done more than most people. You’ve stood up to charging lions and elephants, been mauled by a wild animal, okay granted it was a tree squirrel, but mauled nonetheless, and you’ve travelled to many exotic places. And, of course, you have now made the amazing archaeological discoveries, well, according to you that is'.

Later that evening I got to thinking about the idea of the book. A reasonably interesting life! It sounded catchy, interesting - and the idea began to take shape.

Then, against my judgement, I searched for synonyms for what my life had been categorised as. I read how my life was moderately engaging, fairly captivating, passably entertaining, capturing the idea of being interesting without being extraordinary!

Interesting without been extraordinary! Wow! So much for those self-help gurus.

It was, however, far better than my classification during covid: non-essential.

So I began to get the stories of my reasonably interesting life together.
