Over 40 years of experience in guiding, training, lodge management and conservation in Africa have given me an in-depth knowledge of, and appreciation for, Africa.

Growing up on a remote farm in South Africa I learnt about nature and Xhosa culture from an early age, from Xhosa elders, self-observation and from research. I went on to a career in conservation and wildlife guiding. I have guided over 200 safaris of five days or more and guided drives and walks during my time as lodge manager at some of Africa’s top safari lodges. 

I am presently involved in a project relating to the story of humanity: from the first stirrings of art and consciousness to the present moment.
